EVENTSEvent
DescriptionKAPIHAN, a Filipino term often used to refer to a public forum, connotes a venue wherein members of a community gather together and discuss a range of topics over a cup of coffee. The dea for a regular "Kapihan ng ME Alumni" began when Boy (1970), Gingo (1981), Pepot (1981) and Marie (2003) met up for lunch last January. What was supposedly a short meeting regarding FAME events turned into a very enjoyable discussion about ME alumni, golf, current events, and several other topics and ideas. We realized that an elaborate set-up is not needed to enjoy the company of a fellow alumni. Hence, the tag line -- No Frills, Just Talk. The time and venue may vary every month. Food will also vary from a simple Pandesal to a topping-filled Pizza. Regardless of the arrangements, the essence of the Kapihan will always be the same every time a group of alumni gathers: brilliant ideas, interesting concepts, and that hilariously inevitable trip down memory lane. This April, the Kapihan ng ME Alumni will be hosted by Roaster Juan's. Lorie Reyes, a true-blue Atenean himself, will speak of the science behind the reinvention of the Philippine coffee experience. The FAME Board will also update everyone on the latest FAME events and initiatives, including the 40@40 Scholarship Drive, the Inaugural Golf Tournament, succeeding Kapihan sessions and the 41st ME Alumni Homecoming. And yes, the coffee will be free. VenueDescription
